Centaur Receives Robbins Sports Surface of the Year Award

For the past two years, Centaur Products has been working in close collaboration with Robbins, Cannon Design Architects and The City of Richmond on a unique sports flooring concept at the Richmond Speed Skating Oval, home of the 2010
speed skating events. Unlike other single-use speed skating ice ovals, the host city wanted
to maximize the use of the facility for the community before and after the games. They chose to install a modified Robbins Bio-Channel ClassicŪ system in the inner part of the oval, much like the infield of an outdoor track. The city intends to take advantage of the multiuse facility to host basketball, court sport, and other events as well as speed skating and ice hockey events. |
