ONLY ROBBINS INNOVATION
COULD TAKE THE NATURAL BEAUTY, STRENGTH AND LONGEVITY
OF MAPLE — AND MAKE IT BETTER.
Robbins Continuous
Strip XL, already the best-selling maple product
in the industry, not only improves on the natural
advantages of maple flooring. It’s also improving
with age. The
Continuous Strip XL family is growing with new
members designed to meet a wider range of customer
needs. No matter what the specific application,
all members of the Continuous Strip XL family
offer significant advantages over conventional
maple strip flooring:
|
Straighter.
For Continuous Strip XL, Robbins uses the
industry’s most stringent grading standards
to select maple that we finger-joint and precision
mill into straighter units of a uniform seven-foot
length. |
|
Stronger.
Its uniform length means 75% fewer end joints,
giving Continuous Strip XL a surface strength
nearly three times that of commodity random
length maple when measured in a system context. |
|
Goes
down faster. Pre-sanded, pre-sealed
and pre-finished Continuous Strip XL makes
maple floor installation less time-consuming
— even more so when using the XLerator,™
Robbins’s patented automated XL installation
device. |
|
Last
10 years longer. Continuous Strip
XL installs with less surface sanding on the
jobsite. So your floor begins its life with
more wear surface than conventional random-length
maple. And due to Robbins’s precision
milling process, Continuous Strip XL has greater
sanding wear life — adding up to 10
years to the life of your floor. |
|
Looks
better. Our grading standards exceed
MFMA industry standards, which gives Continuous
Strip XL a more uniform, beautiful surface
appearance. |
Many of our customers tell us that Continuous Strip
XL was the single biggest reason they chose Robbins
products over competing maple floors. They recognized
the improved longevity, beauty and strength that
XL would bring their facility — features that
are the hallmark of every XL floor.
 |
Continuous Strip XL
Compared to random length, XL Maple goes down faster,
is straighter, stronger and exceeds the minimum
requirements of industry grade rules. The patented
finger-joint and milling requires less sanding at
the jobsite and can increase the life expectancy
of the floor by 10 or more years.
Continuous Strip XL450
The traditional look of strip maple captured in
a revolutionary new .450" low profile designed
to maximize the use of the raw material. Robbins’s
XL450 offers the same wear life as standard commodity
random length maple but uses 33% less raw material
to manufacture and produces 67% less waste going
to landfill. Robbins’s XL450 is selected and
graded to provide a highly desirable, natural appearance.
(Subfloor modifications are required for XL450 use
— consult your Robbins Authorized Dealer for
details.)
Continuous Strip XLplus
The plus is Robbins’s patented Precision Lineal
Uniform Spacing. Available as a specified option
on all Continuous Strip Maple, XLplus is the only
maple floor that automatically "precision spaces"
the individual boards to counteract the forces of
expansion-contraction in the floor. You get a truly
monolithic maple surface that virtually eliminates
the need for spacer-cracks or expansion rows in
the floor. XLplus adds dimensional stability to
the floor and eliminates the need to specify "edge-grain"
maple strip.
Continuous Strip Smartwood
Continuous Strip XL is now available as Smartwood™
certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and
the United States Green Building Council as the
product of sustainably harvested forests. Robbins
provides a leadership role in developing new and
unique manufacturing processes designed to eliminate
waste and provide good stewardship of the resources
we use.
Robbins Continuous Strip XL Maple is graded by
Robbins to exceed minimum standards established
by the Maple Flooring Manufacturing Association
for finger-jointed maple flooring. Contact Robbins
